The Lincoln Club has several committees that are open to all members. Committees are a great way to meet other members and to get involved in various Club activities. To join, members can simply attend a meeting or contact the committee chairman to get involved.
The Membership Committee is responsible for new member recruitment and membership retention activities. Chairwoman: Catherine Sanchirico. Meets third Thurs. of each month at noon. Location: Hensel Phelps Construction Co. 18850 Von Karmen, Ste. 100, Irvine.
Joint California Policy Center (CPC) & Communications Committee
The Communications Committee is responsible for communicating the Club’s activities, initiatives, and positions to outside audiences, as well as helping foster communication about Club activities amongst the general membership, through the Club’s website, newsletter, press releases, and other communications materials. Chairman: Michael Capaldi.
The CPC is an independent non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting a pro-prosperity agenda based on smaller government, choice in education, responsible environmental policy, and jobs for Californians. The CPC operates three websites (CalPublicPolicyCenter.org,UnionWatch.org and PensionTsunami.com) and plans to use free media and paid media to educate potential voters on issues such as education, relief of business from regulation, and making common sense choices about environmental policy. Recent research topics that have enhanced the CPC’s brand include a public-employee compensation study on city workers in Irvine, Anaheim and Costa Mesa, which was recently featured on the front page of the OC Register’s Local section.
The Joint CPC & Communications Committee meets on the second Friday of the month. CPC Chairman: Mark Bucher.
Issues Ad Hoc Committee
Members research and track specific public policy issues that the Club has identified as priorities for each election cycle. This committee updates the Board about such issues and works with the Communications Committee & CPPC on opportunities to publicize the Club’s issue positions. Location: Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, 3161 Michelson Dr., 12th Floor, Irvine. Chairman: Bob Loewen.
The Legislative Committee makes recommendations to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors regarding the propositions placed on the Primary, General, and Special Election Ballots, as well as any legislation of special interest to the Lincoln Club. Meets first Tuesday of the month at 5:15 p.m at the offices of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, 3161 Michelson Drive, 12th Floor, Irvine. Chairman: Michael Reynolds.
Local Elections Committee
The Local Elections Committee fosters volunteer participation in local city elections. Members are encouraged to become familiar with city issues, elected officials, and prospective candidates. During local elections, the Local Elections Committee conducts impartial candidate assessments to determine which candidates the Club should endorse. In this effort, the Committee works closely with the Republican Party of Orange County. Meets the first Wednesday of each month at noon. Location: Veterans First, 888 W. Santa Ana Blvd, Suite 200, Santa Ana. Chairman: Dr. James Huang.
The Program Committee is responsible for organizing breakfast, lunch and dinner programs held throughout the year for members, their spouses or guests, and guests who are interested in membership. The Program Committee has full responsibility for engaging the speakers, setting dates, and finalizing arrangements for the programs. A fee is collected for each event to cover costs. Meets on an as-needed basis. Chairman: David Bahnsen.
Latino Engagement Ad Hoc Committee
This committee is focused on engaging and building relationships with the Latino community in Orange County, and identifying like-minded community leaders who share the Club’s core principles. The committee meets on the last Tuesday of the month at noon. Location: Hensel Phelps Construction Co. 18850 Von Karmen, Ste. 100, Irvine. Chairwoman: Teresa Hernandez.
Student Outreach Ad Hoc Committee
This committee is focused on reaching out to the Youth. This is a Critical and Achievable goal. Join us if you have a passion for reaching out to younger voters. Meets the second Monday of every month. 6:00pm at the OCGOP Offices: 1422 E. Edinger Ave, Suite 100, Tustin. Chairman: Robert Graham.
Lincoln Women Leadership Coalition (LWLC) Committee
The mission of the LWLC is to Engage, Educate, Encourage, Empower, and Elect (women VOTERS and CANDIDATES.) Meetings take place monthly at Hensel Phelps Construction Co., 18850 Von Karman Ave. Suite 100, Irvine. Chairwoman: Dr. Kerry Reynolds.
